The talk will cover majorly the sports activities of Odisha, Sport tourism, infrastructure and future possibilities for Odisha followed by student interactions. Overnight at Bhubaneswar.

Day O2: Bhubaneswar

After breakfast visit to Naval Tata Hockey Academy Odisha - Interactive Meeting at Kalinga Stadium, Meeting with Odisha FC management team to understand Global alliance, Marketing & Securing Sponsorship, Tie-ups, and Brand Association at Bhubaneswar. Post lunch visit to Khandagiri - Udayagir Caves, Lingaraj Temple, Mukteswara Temple. Overnight at Bhubaneswar.

Day 03: Bhubaneswar

Visit to Football Association of Odisha - Odisha Women's League - Women in Sports: interaction with management and their role in empowering women of Odisha to be stakeholders of Odisha team. Visit to Sports Manufacturing facility in Bhubaneswar ( SME) with guided Factory Visit. Evening special talk on by expert: Insights on Adventure Sports in Odisha & Efforts made by the government to improve this sector. Overnight at Bhubaneswar.

Day 04: Bhubaneswar – Cuttack

After breakfast visit to Kalinga Sports Foundation in Bhubaneswar – Promotion of Rural/Tribal/Community in Sports. Second half visit to Iconic Barabati Stadium & Martime Museum of Odisha. Overnight at Cuttack.

Day 05: Cuttack

Cuttack Visit to Local sport experience like: Kayaking Banana Boating Speed Boat Sport fishing Second half visit to Odisha Cricket Association, meeting with their official and share experiences

Day 06: Cuttack - Ashoka stone Encrypt – Konark Sun Temple – Surfing at Marine Drive

Visit to Dhauli Shanti Stupa, this is one of the famous Buddhist destinations in India and famous for the international peace pagoda. And the Stone Encripts represents the life and struggles of King Ashok and the Kalinga war which led to his transformation from Chandasoka to Dharamasoka. Then visit to Konark Sun Temple, built by king Narasingha deva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty about 1250 CE. It is declared as UNESCO world heritage site. Visit also Chandrabhaga Sea beach ( one of the best beach to observe Sun Rise & sun Set in India).

Day 07: Konark Marine Drive - Puri – Jagannath Temple – Bhubaneswar Drop

Morning visit to Jagannath Temple for 2 hours, then return back to Bhubaneswar for onward journey. Drop at Bhubaneswar airport / Railway station for onward journey.

Sports Events at Odisha (2022-2023)

Year 2022 brings many smiles to the sports lover of Odisha, India. Odisha is all geared up to play as host to a wide variety of top sporting events at the national and international level in 2022, and hence this year onwards Odisha will be remembered as the sporting capital of India.

International Badminton Tournament: 25 -30 January 2022

A new Badminton World Federation (BWF) Tour event—Odisha Open Super 100 will be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack from January 25-30. Cuttack will host an international badminton tournament after a long time.

T-20 Cricket Match: India & West-Indies: 15th Feb 2022

The Millennium City will also host the first match of the T-20 series between India and West Indies in 2022. The match will be played at the historic Barabati Stadium on February 15.

Few matches of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will also be played in the ‘Sports Capital’ of the country.

In more good news to the hockey fans of the State, World Hockey Pro League will be organised at the Kalinga Stadium in 2022. As per the State Sports Department sources, many more international hockey matches will be played at the Kalinga Stadium in 2022 before the game's biggest spectacle, the Men's World Cup tournament arrives in the State the next year.

Asian Volleyball Championship in August and September: 2022

Odisha will also play host to the Asian Volleyball Championship in August and September. As many as eight top ranked teams of Asia will lock horns in the tournament. Apart from that,

Other Important Sports events in 2022:

National Senior Volleyball Championships and National Volleyball Federation Cups will be organized in Odisha. Sports fans in the State will also get to enjoy National Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior Weightlifting Championships from March 20-29. “Odisha weightlifters have always performed well in various national level competitions. As the host state, we are confident of a good show this time also,” said Narayan Sahu, Secretary of Odisha Weightlifting Association (OWA). Moreover, National Sub-Junior and Junior Swimming Championships are also slated to be organised at the Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool in 2022.

Its really interesting and motivating for the sports lovers of India and particularly Odisha. It is scheduled to be held from 13 – 29 January 2023 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium, Rorkela, India. 

With 16 participating teams, the new qualification process was announced in December 2018 by the International Hockey Federation. Each of the continental champions from five confederations and the host nation received an automatic berth, and the 10/11 highest placed teams at the Semifinals of the 2016–17 FIH Hockey World League not already qualified would enter the tournament. India qualified both as host and continental champion, therefore that quota was given to China as the highest-ranked team from the 2016–17 Hockey world League Semifinals not already qualified.
